Click this link for a PDF instructions document on starting a Tele-Visit if you have one scheduled.  These visits require you to have a web portal account and a device to connect (either a smartphone or a computer with a webcam and microphone.

TELEVISITS:

If you have a Tele-Visit here is what we want you to do BEFORE THE VISIT:

Vital Signs: If possible we ask you to do the following in preparation of your visit:

Breathing Rate: Set a timer for 30 seconds and count the number of times your child’s chest rises. Double that number to get his respiratory rate.

Heart Rate: To check your child’s heart rate, place two fingers on their wrist, below their thumb. Apply gentle pressure until you can feel a slight beat against your fingertips. Count how many beats you feel in 15 seconds. Then multiply that number by 4 to determine your child’s heart rate, which is measured in beats per minute.

Temperature: Please obtain a temperature before your visit (you will be asked about prior fever that has occurred in your questionnaire

Weight: Please obtain a weight if possible

Device:  See below for instructions about how to start a Tele-Visit.  You can use a laptop or computer with a webcam, or if using a smartphone, the Healow App.  To do this first download the Healow App if you have not already done so.   Once completed Log-In to the Healow App.   Call us if you are having difficulty.  Do this an hour before your appointment time.   If despite our efforts, OR if it is the weekend or evening, ask the provider if you can connect through Face-Time (Apple Phone) or Google Duo (Android Phone).  New York State has allowed using other apps, if you are willing to connect.  

  

Tips and notes if using a smart phone for video visits

You can ONLY use the Healow app on the smartphone.  Going to the Four Seasons website on the smartphone will not work.  If you get a message that says the app is incompatible, you are likely using the website/internet browser on the smartphone.

You can not be using the phone for a voice call the same time you try to connect to the virtual video visit.

We have found that the connection works better if you use cell service and NOT WIFI, unless you have very poor cell coverage in your area.

When speaking to the physician, use the front facing (selfie side) camera.  When showing the physician anything, such as a rash or mark on your child, use the away or outward facing camera.  There is a change camera button on the bottom of the screen when you are connected.
